PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE:

A great big thank you to the chairladies who planned a fun jog-a-thon for the students: Mrs. Rosa Martinez, Mrs. Angela Ortega, Ms. Cynthia Contreras, Mrs. Debbie Torres, Mrs. Rosie Prado, Mrs. Gloria Arreguin, and Mrs. Denise Griego. It was so well planned, and the students had a wonderful time. There were so many nice raffle prizes. Thanks to the rest of the PTO Board and Ways and Means Committee, and the many other parents who helped.

Parents, thanks to all of you for your cooperation and patience for the week in getting your students through spirit week and the jog-a-thon. It was a great week for the students, and will be on unforgettable memory for many of them.

ELECTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR: We have three positions on the PTO Board that need to be filled. They are the position of Vice-President, Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer. Please give it some thought and talk it over with others for ideas. The people who have been holding these positions have done a terrific job, but we need to give them a little rest. There are so many of you out here who could do a great job----give it a try.

The forms for the new officers for the PTO went out several weeks ago. Please see it in your heart to volunteer, or get a friend to volunteer for this position. This leadership group of parents makes things happen at school. Mrs. Denise Griego has volunteered to stay on as Parliamentarian so she will be there to help a new person assume her duties as Vice-President. For those of you who like to complain about things, this is your time to step up and help make things better. I am waiting for forms to be returned.

ECA BANQUET: This will take place this Thursday evening. For those who might not know what this banquet is, the ECA banquet is dinner held for any students who was on a St. Hilary School sports team or on the Student Council and their parents, ECA stands for extra curricular activities. This banquet is by invitation only and the students may only be accompanied by his/her parents. No other sibling or family member is invited unless the student is being raised by a grandparent. Members of the faculty, PTO Board, Ways and Means Committee and the Marketing Committee are also invited.
We are sending out forms asking for workers for Thursday’s event. We need parents to help set up, serve, and clean up. Please let us know by tomorrow if you can help.

JPL: Our sixth graders will be taking a trip to visit the JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) on Tuesday, and the seventh and eighth graders will visit it on Wednesday.

INTENT CARDS: We are sending a reminder to those of you who do not have your intent letter in. We need to start planning on a budget for next year, and we need to know what the enrollment will be. Please send in your intent card and $100.00 this week so we can finalize. Thank you so much.

FREE DRESS: If the family attended Shakey’s Night last Thursday, the student may wear free dress on Thursday this week.
